    Weekend Warrior Outlook

    posted @ 11/20/2009 06:02:00 PM by Ninjasistah
Happy Festivus-Is-Nearly-Upon-Us-All weekend folks. I'm even more pleased to welcome you to my new weekly column, Weekend Warrior Outlook. Each Friday I am going to share with you what I'll be playing over the weekend [new and old] with some of what I EXPECT my game playtime to be like.

Then, late that Sunday night I'll hit you with my Weekend Warrior Wrap-up and we'll see if I'm as good at predicting just how good or bad my gameplay experience is going to be as I am with picking winning lottery numbers.

So hit the jump to see what the outlook is.

On deck this weekend is a bit of a jumble. First thing to get out of my blood is the new Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band DLC released for Harmonix smash hit title The Beatles: RockBand. I will preface this outlook with the fact that I am a HUGE fan of the music The Beatles are known for, and a bunch of tracks that are not on "Past Masters" discs. TBRB is the ONLY music-based game that I can consistently play more than one instrument on expert on without having to turn on the "no-fail" failsafe.

The outlook looks damned positive on this one.
I'd be surprised if I didn't offer to kiss Dhani Harrison in the face for helping to bring this awesomeness into the world. [Okay, enough of that, back to video games.]

The second title on deck is Prototype. Now before you get all huffy-puffy with me for not playing this one sooner. For a while there money was short, and we were not feeling the review unit love like we are now, so hush up. Besides, I think it will be more interesting a review of the title now that I have played games like inFAMOUS and Uncharted 2:Among Theives which are all dramatically different games yet seem somehow similar or maybe familiar is a better word to use there. In any event, Prototype is the third title on my list.

The outlook looks dim for this one. While I'm sure the gameplay will be good as many of my trusted gaming friends loved the title, I have to admit that I see myself being too distracted by other games that have come in from GameFly to finish this one off before deciding to send it back from whence it came. We'll just have to see.

Don't be shy, let me know what you think about my Weekend Warrior Outlook column, and remember opinions are like farts... everyone has them, some just stink more than others!

    See you Sunday kids!
