In a not too distant future, a (VRMMORPG) Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game has been released to the public. Players use a piece of equipment called Nerve Gear to control their avatar with their body. Eventually, players discover they cannot log out of the game, because the game creator is holding them captive until they are able to reach the 100th floor of the game’s tower and defeat the final boss.
