    N3: Hands On

Well, I downloaded the N3: Ninety-Nine Nights demo from XBLive today...and I got to tell you, it looks good.

Wait, that's not how I want to say it. It feels good

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...it feeeeeeels good. It responds like a massive action battle game should feel. I now have a better picture of the game. The only ways it mirrors the Dynasty Warriors game system is in that there are just hordes of enemies on screen at any given time that need mowing down. Oh yeah, you do have 3 main attacks that you can use in combo to mow this horde down with including a super attack that you have to fill up a gage for in order to use. [Which reminds me of the mosou attack in DW] That's where the similarities end.

In N3 you have better control over the army you preside over and their AI is much better than that of the DW types. You can call them into battle with you, or have them hold their position while you go off to scout out an area before summoning them to your location. In the four times that I have now played this demo, I have yet to experience any lag in the gameplay as multiple enemies try to take me down. [Twice they have succeeded, but I WILL rectify that] Did I mention that the AI enemies aren't just mindless? They's sneaky lil mofo's. Twenty or so will come at you head on and while you are dealing with them, a couple actually hunch down and sneak up on you from behind and hit you while you are distracted. Yes, gone are the days of the entire army stopping and watching while you are currently engaged. [Dammit]

And don't forget that the game just looks stunning! But don't just take my word for it, if you have XBLive and space on your hard drive, download it and try it out.

    You won't be sorry.

Is that a shuriken in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
