Love, Love, and Fan service galore!
If you are a lover of titles like “Love Hina” you are in for a treat with this series.
Ai Yori Aoshi or “Faithfully Yours”
If you love…passion…devotion and harem of women you are in luck mister!
The story proceeds as follows.
There is this little girl Aoi [Aoi means blue in Japanese just so you know]. She is the daughter of the most powerful man in the Sakuraba Group. Which is a powerful family with a powerful business tied in.
She is betrothed to be married to Kaoru of the Hanabishi Clan. They meet as children [while the adults handled the arrangements] and Aoi is informed that Kaoru will be her husband one day. So, she decides to become the best kind of woman possible to be worth of becoming Kaoru’s wife.
After some time, Aoi blossoms into the girl of most men’s dreams: polite, charming, elegant, well breed, can cook, clean, and be subservient to her mate. But she then discovers that the wedding will not take place…at all.
She is devastated by this news and wanted to find Kaoru and she wants to be his wife, anyway that she can. So she sneaks away from the Sakuraba Estates to track him down. To see what kind of man he has become.
He is a college student, living in a one-room apartment trying to make ends me. He seems a little ditzy at first but there is more going on then we from the outside can see. By fate they meet in a subway [not that they know who they are to each other] but as in all stories they figure it out, and attempt to go through it.
The Sakuraba family dislikes this and sends an assistant to break them up but it doesn’t work because of Aoi’s determination. So to appease her the family arranges for them to live in a huge house while Kaoru becomes worthy of Aoi.
They go through this series living with each other, learning about each other. These characters are more in depth and you see the inner workings of high society.
Many girls have come into Kaoru’s life and they all work their way into his house. [Talk about girl problems]
The players are set, the story unfolds…it’s a good story and even has it’s dark rooted past.
There are two seasons: Ai Yori Aoshi (5 volumes here) and Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi (3 volumes here)
There is a manga out of this too. It is released by Tokyo pop. So go out and enjoy it. It's worth peeking at.
