It's Clamp Time
Pandalicious is at it again, ladies and gents, and this time the goodie in her magic bag of anime and manga is a work called Clamp school detective. It is created by the four female powerhouses that make up Clamp: Nanase Ohikawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi. They have a unique style all their own and their works have probably passed your eyes once or twice [I am an avid lover of the girls of CLAMP!!!]
Their works include: Card Captor Sakura, Angelic Layer, Chobits and X. Their drawing style is so detailed that beautiful is an understatement, but I digress here...back to Clamp school detectives...
In this 3 manga volume set, we a put at a very hosh posh school. All three levels attend there: Elementary, Middle & High school and also college. Within each branch of schools are representatives from each grade. The three man characters of this series are the representative for the fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Their names being Akira Ijyuin, Suoh Takamura and Nokoru Imonoyama. They are hot and haven't even reached puberty yet! The girls from all over adore them, and they go off solving cases for distressed damsels, from old withering ladies to young vivacious college girls no one is left out of the Clamp school detectives eye.
But not only do they have to address the woes of women everywhere, but also overcome their own problems... It's very enjoyable to take part in.
This manga is released through Tokyopop and has long since been out. It is a saccharine title so be advised to its overly sugar content and be aware that there is no sex, no drugs and the love triangle is harder to master due to the age of the protagonist. [it was hard for me to shallow at first, but just take it easy and you should be fine.]
This isn't for guys, to be honest, it strikes the women census as a shojo. The copies of this that are out in circulation are limited editions and come with free posters inside. [Very beautiful art, ladies!]
For girls I'd say this should definitely be in your collection. For males....not so much. But don't worry, guys, Clamp doesn't discriminate and if you've watched X then you know clamp can get dark and brooding, just the way you like it. So like I always say, go look through it and see if you like it.
