I like angels, carnage and incest...in anime at least
Hello All Pandalicious here bringing you yet again some anime that Im sure many have come across but may have never actually watched...
Now who here doesnt like angel? I mean come on seriously, they are usually very hot [yes I have never in my life seen an ugly ass angel.] And they generally do Gods will....[I am excluding the angels in Dogma- because even angels do misbehave] Thus to the point I want to address.
The anime in question...Angel Sanctuary. Many who have watched this [like myself] were distressed by the immediate and unwarrented ending of this three episode movie. I will get to that in a moment but first for the few who have never wanted or owned this , I shall bring forth a summary.
So...God is supposedly the ultimate force, and the Devil is the antagonist who has to go and ruin everything. But ...and I do mean but what if they had an alliance? And what if God switched the game and went and undermined the Devil? Well that question is the main focus within this movie.
God went and sent droves of angels into the hell region and slaughted many lowly demons. Which off set the balance between the two. On the Heavenly aspect of things there were two divine creatures, angel one of the inorganic and the other of organic. A brother and sister. Organic Angel Alexiel and Inorganic Angel Rosiel. A seal had been placed of Rosiel, and his resurrection starts off the show. And what became of Alexiel? Well She went against God and was then cast away to the human world to live as a human..to slumber within a young man. That young mans name is Setsuna.
If life wasnt hard enough for this fellow, he has urges of an unatural persuasion. He is in love with a very special girl. One so close to him, it would send normal people fleeing. He is in love with his younger sister Sara. [Yes ladies and gentlemen there is incest afoot ] Now with Rosiel back to his old tricks, Setsuna is slowly regaining his holy abilities. Demons and what not begin appearing all around him. He now must continue the overthrow that Alexiel started. The world is in the hands of a incest filled youth. Will he lead the world to salvation? Or to eternal damnation. Guess youll have to watch it and find out because Im not going to tell you.
On the WTFPS [Wow Thats Fucked Up Scale] I give it a 9 out of 10. Angelic battles [hell yea] Coming to terms with wanted to fuck your sister..[wow thats fucked up ] , Having crossdressing devils aiding you...[even more fucked up]
I actually came across this anime by complete accident and also by the divine sense of my mother, who saw that it was drawn pretty and assumed Id like it. Once again she chose right [Good job Mom ]
This is a short series released by U.S Manga corps and yes its odd because its an anime. It is also in circulation in manga form and can be found in the graphic novel section [Never really understood that...always thought that was where the porn would be..But thats another post.]
Id say...honestly that this is one the movies that should be in your anime collection. For more insight into the story line, pick up the manga. I havent had the chance[ and by chance I mean finances ^^] to pick it up. However, as with most mangas , things that dont make sense in the series will make sense there.
So go check it out. You shouldnt be disappointed.
