I for one have always been a fan of the PSP interface. It was the second thing I liked about the PSP when I bought it. [The first was the clarity of the video screen. And at that point, those were about the only things I liked about my PSP...
I found the games to 1) suck 2) be WAY overpriced for what you were getting and 3) don't even get me STARTED about how piss poor the movies for the PSP are: the system was a complete let down. Truly was. By now you are wondering what any of this has to do with the title; doesn't it read, "Sony Gets Something Right"? Yes Mr. Know-it-all it does, so here is how it fits: It looks like Sony has decided to learn from the KISS Book-o-Design 2006 and is implementing the XMB interface from the PSP on the PS3.
Yes, your mad crazy expensive PS3 with all it's intricate, and complex computing power within the box, is going to have the same, simple, easy to use, non-processor intensive, plain navigation system. While that may sound like a dig, it's not. Not really. Serious. Stop laughing, it's not. It's actually me saying right on Sony. Often when pieces of hardware get impressively powerful, developers tend to create interfaces that are way too bloated to be effectively functional for the end user. I have heard more complaints about the original XB360 interface than you could shake a stick at. So the fact that Sony has opted to use a very simple and refined navigation interface for this [supposedly] super-dee-duper monster of a computing machine.
Sony, you get +5 Hell Yeah Points from me. Just 30,000 more to go. But don't just take my word for it, watch this demo video I saw on YouTube and play judge n' jury for yourself.

Is that a shuriken in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
