    Wanna Chat?

Well, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to bring chat to the ESH website for a couple of weeks now and it's been driving me crazy.

All the Flash based options out there are either too big, in another language, or just look awful so I refuse to use them. IRC works but it's a bitch to install and run the client in a web page so I avoid it like rotten family members. So what's a gal to do?

She finds a cool little Firefox add-on called Peekko Chat that uses IRC but creates a room [irc channel] based on the webpage that you are on at the moment and shows that IRC channel in your browser window right then and there. No fuss, no muss, just plain awesomeness. Peekko Chat connects using port 8080 so it's on the job safe. *wink wink*

So if you have admin right to your machine, click here to go to the Firefox Add-On page for Peekko Chat and install it. Then restart your Firefox and configure Peekko how you want it. [Personally I have mine set not to auto join, I may want to browse around but still be talking to you wonderful ESH loyal.] All of the customizing like your Name and whatnot can be set by clicking on the "Options" [it's to the right of Filter] button.

If you know what you are doing when it comes to IRC chats and have your own client then you will understand all of this:
    connect to the EFnet network
then connect to this server "peekko.pertinent.net"
if your default port doesn't work, try 8080
    the channel name is electricsistahood.com.

I'll be creating a more in depth Peekko Help page later on, but here's some quick help, if you want to change your name just type "/nick yourDesiredName" [without the quotes] and you will change what your name is in the room...go from being NinjaPozer to ThoseWhoEatElves with a simple command!

Hope to chat at you soon!
