Do you cry every time you hear or see the story of Romeo and Juliet? Do you rewind certain sexual scenes of Ninja Scroll and drool over them? Well the Douce has got the anime for you. If you want war-torn lovers mixed with ninja that can’t pass up well-endowed females, then look no further.
Basilisk ~Koga Ninpo Cho~ is the story of two clans that have been at war for centuries. An uneasy truce was formed in hopes of uniting the clans. The series starts with that truce being shattered. What makes the situation worse is the leaders of the clans are in love and had plans to be married. Now ten of the best ninja are chosen from each clan to fight with the remaining clan being pronounced dominant.
As the battle of ninja arts commence, the leaders must try to hold on to their love for each other and be loyal to their respective clans. The action and ninja abilities are on par with Ninja Scroll and the there’s the occasional fan-service for all of those that just can’t get enough of it. The series is made up of 24 episodes and is a must-see for those who love a combination of action and romance rolled into one.

I'm giving Basilisk 3 out of 5 M&Ms. It gets a dark blue M&M because seeing lovers get torn apart by war always tugs at my heart. A red one is also in order due to the amount of violence, blood, and gore that takes place. I’m definitely giving this one a teal M&M because it has some of the sexiest women I’ve seen in an anime and the “predicaments” that they find themselves in will have you blowing the dust off (and probably passing a wet-nap over) your copy of Ninja Scroll.
