An Anime Series I'm Interested In

    posted @ 1/24/2007 01:23:00 PM by Ninjasistah
I normally don't pay too much attention to the newsletters I get from ADV Films in the mail each week, but when they promise a free episode to me I have to check it out.

ADV has licensed an anime called Le Chevalier D'Eon and I have to say, I think I'm hooked.

Le Chevalier D'eon is a story of loyalty, history, and horror. [From what I can tell] D'eon is a knight of court of Versailles under the reign of Louis XV. While in Paris the body of his sister is found floating in a coffin in the Seine river. This does not please D'eon as the church will not permit his sister, Lia, a proper burial. But Lia is not the only woman to be found in a coffin. More and more women start disappearing around Paris, so D'eon joins the secret police in hope of tracking down the kidnapper and murderer to restore his sister's soul so she can be put to rest.

Throughout the first episode we are treated to glimpse of the occult, secret societies, the vanity of royalty, loyalty among friends and family, and oh yeah, some freaky shit. But the story kept me interested, which is a rare thing for most anime series being released over here in the states lately. Much of the new stuff is boring, But this, this is different. After this first episode I had to go to the ADV site to see when more episodes would be available. I need more. I want to know how the story progresses.

But don't take my word for it, watch the first episode for yourself for free as well. It's only free this week. Then let me know what you think.

Did I mention that visuals are very purdy? Because they are.
