Speak Softly and Carry a Big Sword

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to recommend a good anime to you guys. Well the time has come for me to bring another good series to the table. If you like gals with skills, then you definitely want to check this one out.
Every so often, I head on over to Animenfo to see what’s new in the world of anime and what’s worth watching. Well this weekend, I came across a new series called Claymore that’s receiving good reviews all across the board. So I decided to give it a try. Let me say that ten episodes later, I’m not disappointed and can’t wait for the next one.

I’ll give you the official plot summary:

The setting is ancient times and for years people have been eaten by beasts with the ability to look like humans called “Yoma”. There has been no means to counter the beasts until female warriors, half human, half yoma began showing up. Their silver eyes allow them to see through the Yoma’s disguises. Each female carries a huge sword used to slay the Yoma. Hence, they were given the name Claymores.

This is a gory anime but it’s EXTREMELY good. The action is intense and the plot, even though there are only ten episodes so far, is even better. I have to warn you that if you’re looking for an anime with fan-service then keep looking, BUT if you want to see women kicking arse on a whole new level then go to Veoh and type “Claymore 01” in the search box. I won’t link it because I’m not sure of all the legal mumbo-jumbo, but I CAN tell you where to find it.

Give Claymore a try, people. I’m begging you to watch episodes 1-8 before passing judgment on it. If episodes 5-8 don’t make you want to keep watching then I apologize for wasting your time. That’s right. Douce is apologizing. Don’t get used to it.

Once the series is finished, I’ll be reviewing Claymore so I hope to see you all at the finish line.

    Later!
