Guitar Hero: Franchise Food For Thought

    posted @ 2/29/2008 01:31:00 PM by Ninjasistah
In case you missed it, Activision announced a ship date for the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Now don't get me wrong, I love Aerosmith. Well, let me rephrase. I love early and classic Aerosmith and I'm intrigued by the idea of a GH game set around the work an entire band, so I got to thinking; which band would I absolutely go ape over to have a GH game based around.

Hit the jump, this one is good.

So right off the bat I think of the Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, The Doors...all bands with songs in their repertoire that defined or help shape the rock and roll genre. [They are also some of my most favorite music artists]. But while I started thinking deeper on the subject and other influential artists that deserve to be presented to a new audience. People like Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, can you imagine an entire ZZ Top GH game? What about a Curtis Mayfield one? Huh? Can you dig it? I know I can.

This of course led me to what I think would be the holy grail of band-centric and complete licensing nightmare GH games: Guitar Hero: The Beatles.

First of all, the game could only be comprised of tracks created and performed by the band. No covers, no tribute bands. Has to be The Beatles playing The Beatles songs. Secondly, at least two of the remix tracks from the Cirque du Soleil show Love should included as the final set to play. You wanna be a rock god? Then you play from "Twist & Shout" to "The End" and come and talk to me. Activision hear my plea: go talk to George Martin, Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia and get to working on that... before the Harmonix/MTV Games people catch on and make RockBand: The Beatles.

Who will get my money first?
