Physical box edition of Ori and the Blind Forest coming June 13
New screens show the beauty of the game's hand-drawn art
Fans of the video game Ori and the Blind Forest will now get a boxed retail version to add to their shelves. Called Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, it will be released June 14.
"Since we released Ori and the Blind Forest, we’ve received many mails, tweets and requests from fans asking for a boxed retail release, so we're extremely pleased to finally make everyone's wish come true,” said Thomas Mahler, CEO of Moon Studios. “We can't wait to finally see Ori and the Blind Forest on shelves.”
Two versions of the game will be available for sale at stores. The limited edition includes a steel box, two posters and an audio CD. The game is currently available in a digital version for PC on Steam.
According to the maker, the story "tells the tale of a young orphan destined for heroics, through a visually stunning action-platformer. Featuring hand-painted artwork, meticulously animated character performance and a fully orchestrated score, the game explores a deeply emotional story about love and sacrifi ce, and the hope that exists in us all."
