Smaller Xbox One S models coming in August

After previously announcing the high-end 2 TB edition of the Xbox One S a few weeks ago, Microsoft today announced smaller-capacity versions of the device -- in sizes of 500GB and 1TB -- each bundled with popular franchises Madden NFL or Halo, to be available starting Aug. 23.

Those devices bundled with the Madden game will have the latest version -- Madden NFL 17 -- included as a physical copy, if purchased at GameStorp, or a full-game download, if purchased elsewhere. Initial purchasers will also get a promotional code for 20 percent off an order at NFLShop.com, as well as seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs and one month of EA Access for $349.

The Halo bundle will include Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which comprises the first four Halo games. It will cost $299 for the 500MB version and $349 for the 1TB version. Note that the 1TB hard drive option will be available only in very limited quantities at select Microsoft Stores and microsoftstore.com. Existing Xbox One models were recently reduced in price to $249 to make way for the new models.

The bundles announced today are restricted to the U.S., but announcements of addtional countries will be forthcoming.
