ESH Cast #584: It’s not the worst anime I’ve ever seen, but…
Having done a video game and anime podcast every week for the past 12 years, it would be correct to say that not every anime we've ever watched has been stellar. We've seen the good ones. We've seen the bad ones.
We'd like to say that we love it all, but, then, that just wouldn't be us. We try not to dwell on the bad anime, but it's out there.
It would be easy for a hater to say that Black Butler: Book of Circus is bad. But we're not haters. We loved the first two Black Butler series. And then Circus came along. It did not achieve the heights that the earlier efforts did. And so we say so on this week's show.
We don't hate it. We just didn't care for it.
And we don't mind heaping praise on anime that we like. This week, we also talk in more detail about the new Castlevania anime and we do an extended Blerds of a Feather (that's where Panda and Ninja talk about the same subject) segment on Darling in the Franxx.
