ESH Cast #620: Choosing the character with the cutest outfit is not intelligent strategy

NinJaSistah's mind has been inundated with thoughts about her high school days. Those were the days when she lived for fighting games.

She was very mindful of her skills in games like Soul Edge and Mortal Kombat. She spent long hours learning her favorite character's skills and practiced the proper controller buttons to make them win.

She also learned not to use all her learned skills when playing friends who were unfamiliar with the game. She "went easy" on them, choosing less familiar opponents so as to give her buddies a fighting chance.

More than a generation has passed, but her old skills are about to get a revival with the announcement of a new Mortal Kombat game coming in April. She talks about her enthusiasm for it in this week's podcast.

Pandalicious, meanwhile, has been deeply involved in the video game that is an adjunct to the Grand Tour TV show. Although she's not known for being a car fan, she has taken to both the show and the video game, and discusses both at length this week.

But, to use an automobile metaphor, both games will likely take a backseat to Kingdom Hearts III when it is finally released at the end of the month. That's the way things go in this business.
