Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer Trailer

    posted @ 1/19/2010 03:10:00 PM by Douceswild

Color me stupified, I thought the Age of Conan mmo was on it's way out, but I guess I was wrong. It's getting an expansion. I know, right!?!

Rise of the Godslayer is the first expansion for the almost 2yr old mmo. Sadly, I didn't even stick around for the free month of gameplay and have never looked back. After watching this trailer...I'm still not going back. I've heard the game has become group-dependent which is always a turn-off for me in an mmo. But for those who you who are still hooked this expansion might be for you.

Set in the eastern empire of Khitai and including a new playable race - the Khitan - 'Rise of the Godslayer' brings to the table a new story and missions, new player mounts and new areas to explore. No release date has been released yet.

    Guild Wars 2 Trailer

    posted @ 12/08/2009 11:14:00 AM by Douceswild

I played Guild Wars years ago and it just didn't interest me. It was so long ago that I can't even remember what I didn't like about it. The trailer for Guild Wars 2 just hit the internet and it's making me rethink my initial distaste for the MMO.

Let me start off by saying the graphics in this game are amazing. I'll go even as far as saying that this is probably one of the most gorgeous MMOs' I've seen, next to Aion. The trailer introduces each of the game's five races: Sulvari, Norn, Charr, Asura and Human.

Guild Wars 2 is due on store shelves in November 2010.

Star Trek Online Gameplay Footage Released

    posted @ 12/01/2009 03:16:00 PM by Douceswild

So many MMOs' and so little time. They just keep coming. Not all of them turn out to be good, which is sort of a good thing, because if they were, then I'd have no time to keep you guys updated on the latest in the MMO world. Speaking of which, Star Trek Online has been making their presence known lately.

Star Trek Online is a Cryptic Studios project. This is the same crew that brought us Champions Online a few months ago. They've been trickling more info to the public over the last month or so, including the release date (Feb. 2, 2010). The latest news comes in the form of gameplay footage. As much as I'm anticipating a good sci-fi mmo, I don't know if this is it. My money is still on Star Wars: The Old Republic, but who am I kidding, I'll most likely pick of Star Trek Online regardless.

Check out the official site for more info.

An MMO spreading Love to PC Gamers

posted @ 10/02/2009 08:14:00 PM by Vichus Smith
Do you have any Love in your life? Well, now we can all experience it for the first time.

Love is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game which is being developed and produced by just one person- Eskil Steenberg. It's as indie as you can get and incredibly ambitious. On top of that, this game is not the same click n' slash, swords and sorcery game that comes to mind when you think of MMORPGs.

Love is a "procedural" game, meaning that the world is ever changing and evolving. It has been a slow burn for Love, again because there is only one person working on the game.

Early this year, Steenberg released a video which actually ran you through part of the world of Love and how Steenberg goes about creating it.

Quite fascinating, no? Now Steenberg has opened up Love for an open alpha test of the world, for players in the UK and US to experience. So give Love a chance, wont you?

    Dragonball Online Trailer

posted @ 8/30/2009 12:33:00 AM by Vichus Smith

A new MMORPG is ready to Kamehameha your PC! That's right, just when you thought it was safe to put down your scouter, a Korean MMO carrying the Dragonball name (and designs by Akira Toriyama) has arrived!

Judging from the trailer, you will have quite a few classes to choose from, and you will also be able to play as male or female. The current races include Saiya-jin, human, Namekian and even Buu! Namekians, of course, are only male, but Buus are both female and male.

There are many questions left unanswered about Dragonball Online, the topmost being "Is this going to be available outside of Korea?" For now, the answer is "No." Now don't go crying in your Capsule Corp tissue just yet. Hopefully DBO performs well enough to expand into other markets.
