Top 5 Things I Want To See At E3 2012

In less than 3 days, I will be on a plane kicking myself for forgetting about that stupid adapter I left on my kitchen table (you know, the one that I really needed to bring with me) as jump on a flight to LA to attend E3 2012. A bunch of the Team ESH team members will meet me there and we'll compare notes on who is going to go see what during the show, and what we are really excited to see.

So, I started working on my "What I really want to see" E3 list.

# 5 | Assassin's Creed III

I've played every AC title that exists – including the Facebook games and iOS stuff – and Ubisoft has somehow still left me clamoring for more. Like anyone who has played through the first three titles, I'm desperate to know the truth and understand exactly what ties Desmond's bloodline has to the "ones that came before." Inquiring minds "gotta know..NOW!"

#4 | DmC Devil May Cry

Gamers agree (and if you don't, you should) that the last DMC title left a less-than-stellar impression. At one point, I thought about creating a drinking game around the game's co-lead Nero screaming out the name of his beloved – and quite kidnapped – love, Kyrie. After the 4th shot in less than 2 minutes of gameplay I decided against going live with the game. Someone would surely die in the name of "KYYYRRRRRRIEEEEEEEEEE", and I wasn't going to let that happen on my watch.

The premise of the forthcoming title (right now slated for a January 15, 2012 release) being a prequel to the existing franchise intrigues me. There are so many ways to develop a young, raw, and somehow even more brash Dante just makes my thumbs all tingly with joy.

#3 | Dance Central 3

I don't know if this "is a thing" or not, but praise be to Harmonix if it is. Many an hour has been spent at ESH headquarters shakin', shimmyin', and good old fashioned "groove bustin'," that I can't help but hold out hope that team behind Rockband, Rockband Blitz and the original reason that I bought an Xbox Kinect Dance Central will announce an update to their stellar movement based dance title. Maybe a slightly better multiplayer mode? Or maybe something as slight as new/different dance crews to join with different "perks" for the user based on the crew they join. Just thinking out loud here, but neither of those additions would suck as part of a new title rollout in my humble opinion.

#2 | The Last Guardian

The last time I saw or heard anything about Fumito Ueda new project was when I snagged the remastered versions of previous releases Ico and Shadow of the Colossus which came with a sneak peak at Ueda's pending project. I was patiently waiting for news in 2010. I was anxiously awaiting and update at the 2011 E3 event. In 2012, I had better at barest minimum get a new screenshot or video rendering. I need Sony to give me some hope that this game has not be shelved and will, in fact, see the light of day.

I'm so tired of playing make.believe.

#1 | FarCry 3

This one was a toss up for me between this game and Call of Duty: Black Ops II but ultimately, I do know what the definition of the word "insanity" is, and getting some hands-on time with FarCry 3 this E3 is at the top of my list. This game is one of the few titles that I've gone ahead and pre-ordered the game and scheduled it for same day delivery rather than just wait a week to pick it up in store.

If last year's reveal video doesn't pique your curiosity, nothing will. **NSFW because of naughty, adult type language**
