    Someone took my Tokenity.....

    posted @ 8/25/2008 12:52:00 PM by Pandalicious
As you were all aware, we as hosts were given this mystical tokens that once given out would bestow magical "gift" properties through the allgames network.

As stipulated....I set up a challenge that if someone formally challenged me in ten rounds of SC4 and beat me they could win my token, or if I was challenged in a Civ Rev game and was defeated could also get you to token land.

Well I awaiting challengers and no one came until the strong and powerful....[though I hate to admit it....] Alphabox. YES he was a fighter of epic proportions, he was fighter by chance, and he used Yoda too....

However Alphabox claimed the token of another host of a different all games show...so I devised a way to sort this out...through the power of delegation. Alphabox was able to pass the token won from me to a close friend of his in the allgames community And...the winner of this sacred delegated token is......ZAPPY

So Zappy you know the drill as you are of the community!..Enjoy Alpha's victory because with out it, you wouldn't be getting presents...

    Thus Spoke Pandalicious....

    The Soul Still Burns Brightly

    posted @ 7/29/2008 12:12:00 PM by Ninjasistah
Today is the day people. Are your thumbs ready? Did you do your exercises? Were you able to decide between the path of the Jedi or the Dark Side? I hope you have, because today is July 29th which means that Soul Calibur IV has hit the shelves.

To say that I am excited for the release of this game would be an understatement of gigantic proportions. I have missed playing a fighter worth the rental fee for over two years now. The last new release fighting title that I would even dare to put into the "good" category was DOA:4 which is now nearly 4 years old. Four years is way too long of a drought to suffer through, but I take solace in the fact that I am not alone in my misery.

Now before the naysayers and fanboys get up in arms, I know that there have been many versus games based on the Dragonball series, and they have not all sucked. In earnest, the Budokai series has some great gameplay going on in the game itself. That said, the Dragonball titles to me have never really felt like a fighter game title. They are a franchise that appeal to only an existing anime fan base that potentially game as well. The Budokai games have not been able to bridge the game and draw the casual gamer in to join their "legion of the loyal." In many cases, the exact opposite happened; people that would normal pick up every and every fighter title initially shied away from the title. So because DBZ:Budokai focuses on such a small piece of the market of the fighting genre I do not believe it fair to use it as a representation of the whole genre. If you don't like it, you can suck it.

You may say, "...Ninja? Didn't NamcoBandai release an SC title for the Wii? Wasn't that good?" My reply would be "Yes! And it sucked more wind than a brand new Dyson." [And the commercials for that thing say it never loses suction.] SC:Legends was a waste of time and money, and I'm sure NamcoBandai felt that way as well which is why it looks like they worked so hard in order to redeem the title's reputation. NamcoBandai press releases promise that,
"Soulcalibur IV has been retooled from the ground up to provide a true next generation experience."
And then go on to say,
"...the wages of battle are shown as protective armor can be broken off and visible lacerations of clothing can be seen with the inclusion of the equipment destruction feature. Adding depth to the unrivalled combat system, players can unleash Critical Finish moves to defeat opponents in one stunning blow."

The game sports an "improved" character creation mode that allows you to customize the hell out of an existing fighter or even create an original warrior. Oh yeah, it has online versus play as well.

Get thee to thou localist GameStoppery and pick this game up. SCIV is available on the PS3 [Dark Side, Vader style] and XBox 360 [Path of the Jedi].

You know the gamertag, let's star playing.

    Soul Calibur Goodness

    posted @ 6/21/2008 09:23:00 PM by Ninjasistah
I know it's been a while since I wrote something on the site, but trust me when I say that the wait will have been worth while.

I have been working on a series of wallpapers featuring some of my favorite characters from NamcoBandai's upcoming Soul Calibur IV title, and I have to say these are pretty damn hot if I say so myself. I have a few more characters to go, but with the game launch nearly upon us, I felt it only fair to put these up now.

The wallpapers are designed at 1440x900 and are sitting on my picasa page, so feel free to peruse the slideshow and then hit up the actual page for to be making download.

Yeap, NamcoBandai confirmed that SoulCalibur the first will be hitting XBLive this summer. I even have some yummy screen shots for you, finish what you start to learn a bit more.

Originally released in 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast, SoulCalibur remains one of the highest rated fighting game of all time.

SoulCalibur will be back for a new group of souls to open ye olde can=o=whoop upon an unsuspecting online community! Prove you got skills against by laying down the smack old school style on the world with dozens of leaderboards spanning every character and mode.

Seriously, prepare to make your thumbs ache, for a good reason. Visit the screens gallery here.

    Soul Burns Brightly, Once Again

    posted @ 5/06/2008 08:53:00 AM by Ninjasistah
Don't make any plans for July 29th, because NamcoBandai will be releasing the sixth installment of their fighting franchise "Soul Calibur" with the new Soul Calibur IV title.

I've talked before about having some hands on experience with an early demo of this title, and it was enough to wash the stench of the tird that is Soul Calibur Legends from my mind, so as we get closer and closer to the release of this new SC game, I'm getting more and more excited. I love fighting games. The fighting genre is the one that I really cut my gamer teeth on. I would beg family members to buy me games like SC for Christmas, birthdays, days that ended in "y" constantly. I was annoying and relentless; NamcoBandai has me restless yet again for this title.

Returning to the franchise this go 'round are Talim, Rock, and Yoshimitsu which should make button mashers from East to West rejoicing. Talim is my girl. Whenever I'm down a round or two in a tournament, I resort back to her and open up a can of whoop the likes of which have never been seen before. Contrary to what Pandalicious will tell you, I don't cheat and pin people in the corner of the screen. Those of you who hide behind your blocking should also be aware that [like in old school Soul Edge if you block too often and take too much damage, your weapon can and will be broken. Aw yeah!

And no, your eyes are not playing any tricks on you, Yoda will be a playable character in the XB360 version with the dark lord of the Sith as the unlock-able character in the PS3 version. [Just in case you haven't been listening to me fawn over this title during the last few months. What you may not have noticed is that this latest SC outing there are more female characters than any of the series past. The ladies of SC include Amy, Cassandra, Ivy, Seong Mina, Sophitia, Taki, Talim, Tira, Xianghua, Hilde, Angol Fear, and Scheherazade. Yeap! This summer is going to be a fun one. See you online... let the ass whoopin' commence!

Soul Calibur 4: In Case You Missed It

    posted @ 1/11/2008 12:55:00 AM by Ninjasistah
I am one exhausted NinJa. I figured I'd post this up for you guys, just in case you don't have time to peruse any other website [on the planet] other than ESH.

Now, I've made no bones about the fact that I did not like Soul Calibur Legends, but let me tell you a bit about my day yesterday

NamcoSo, I was hangin out with the folks from All Games Interactive [who I still think are some of the most passionate and just plainly put "cool" people to kick it with] when they mention they are heading over to the Namco event at 4pm. Me, I didn't even know that Namco Bandai was even having an event, so I asked if they wouldn't mind if I tagged along. Cool ass peeps they are, they say the more the merrier... so off we go.

I [of course] get in, and lo and behold we are bearing witness to a preview of the Soul Calibur 4 game. Not only a trailer demo, but some hordeurves, drinks, and playable early demo that was, for lack of better vocabulary: pretty promising. By that I mean that while the visual looked beautiful [again, for an early build] it wasn't extremely polished. While the character detail has been kicked up quite a few notches, it didn't exactly scream next gen. BioShock visual has some one ups on this demo, but after playing through that damned SC Legends, this build held with it the promise of a better tomorrow.

The fight system has been revised to just the face buttons of your controller: PS3 or XB360. The demos we played were XB360 systems. No bumper or trigger pulling here folks, just straight up Virtual Fighter style guard, punch, kick, grab. As a self proclaimed brawler fanatic, I gotta say I'm feeling better about the overall direction that SC is heading in.

Then you add the fact that Vader will be on the PS3 and Yoda on the XB360 as unlockables and I am nearly FREAKIN' sold on it people. I'm going to try to contain my inner fan-girl until I get to play with more than three characters but as I said before, pretty promising.

Don't believe me? Peep the vid!
