Finish what you started...
As a day-one owner of the Nintendo 3DS, I’ll admit that choice software for the system has been few and far between. While we’ve already had hits like Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D to enjoy, it just hasn’t been the same. What we’ve all been waiting for is a great game to play that wasn’t released in the mid-to-late 90s. Nintendo has finally answered our pleas with Super Mario 3D Land. Is this the breakout brand-spanking new game for the 3DS, or is it simply too little too late?
Looking back on the Nintendo 64, there are quite a few games that stand out as becoming instant classics that are beloved even today. I don’t need to tell you that Star Fox 64 is one of those games. It was the game that was prepackaged with the rumble pack, now a standard feature in most controllers, and it featured a fully-voiced script. So, when Nintendo announced the two N64 games that were getting remade for the 3DS, I couldn’t have been happier about their choices, but how does the game hold up and how good of a job did they do with the remake?
So, a cradle for the 3DS that has a second analog stick. Trust me, I know what you’re thinking, but let’s take a second, take a deep breath and break this down. I’m not here to say that this practically confirmed rumor is a good or a bad thing, but it may not be quite what it looks like.
