It's been a while since I checked up on a Massive multiplayer game that is NOT taking place in a fantasy or sci-fi setting.

This is a cops-n-robbers MMORPG, with a ton of style and customization. Basically, it's a mish-mash of all of the post GTA 3 Grand Theft Auto games. It's somewhat unfair to compare APB to GTA, but it is a favorable comparison.

You can drive cars, shoot guns, create gangs with other players, and all that fun stuff. From all I have seen, I have high hopes for this game making waves in the  ranks of the MMO genre, which is cluttered with games that have yet to move out of Clicheville. Crimecraft, the most similar title to APB, tried the criminal theme and basically crashed on takeoff. APB, at least, has style on its side.
