Is There a Doctor In The House?

April 6th, 2010 by douceswild

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with The Doctor. If you're asking "Doctor who?", then you are absolutely correct.

The eleventh Time Lord in the Doctor Who series made his debut this weekend. It was extremely hard saying goodbye to the previous Doctor, played by David Tennant, but with a heavy heart and much reluctance I sat down to watch a younger Doctor (Matt Smith) take control of the Tardis. I'll admit that as soon as I saw Tennant regenerate into Smith, I was looking for reasons to hate him, but by the end of the episode I was cheering for him. How could I not? The guy used Twitter and Facebook to save the world.

It's obvious to see that this season is aimed at a younger audience, not only with the introduction of the youngest Doctor in the history of the show, but also by his younger traveling "companion", Amelia "Amy" Pond (Karen Gillan). Also, the "Coming Soon" at the end of the episode showed more laser battles and more enhanced special effects than the previous seasons in my opinion.

Up until now, I really wasn't looking forward to this season of Doctor Who, but now I can't wait to see what kind of time traveling shenanigans the new Time Lord gets himself into.
