ESH Cast #601: The best way to avoid talking about current events is to take a knee

Early on in this week's show, Ninja says the prophetic words, "Our video game and anime podcast has turned into a film and superhero podcast." The comment shows just how much the wheels flew off of the thing.

Regular listeners expect the girls to trail off into the movie world, but they take it to an extreme this time when they spent most of the first 45 minutes on DC and Marvel movies. Finally, however, they do manage to spend some quality time talking about video games.

Politics even rears its ugly head, as evidenced by the title of this week's show. There's no name-calling here, but they get mighty close a couple of times.

They do manage an in-depth look at the Dragon Quest 11 game, as well as discussing the newly released Spider-Man PS4 game and Panda's progress in Octopath Traveler.

One topic you won't hear this week is the 15 minutes they spend discussing the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III game. Including that discussion would have caused the show to burst past their self-imposed 80-minute limit, so you'll get that on a future clip show. It's OK. The game's not out yet.

But Ninja does offer one suggestion for those of you interested in the game. In order to catch up with the timeline of the game through its console and handheld versions, Ninja suggests you watch a YouTube video of that timeline here.

So get ready for the national anthem, and go ahead and kneel, if you wish, while you listen to ESH Cast #601: The best way to avoid talking about current events is to take a knee.
