ESH Cast #602: Panda could say no, but what’s the fun of that?

Ten Dragon Quest games have come and gone, but it took the eleventh one to finally attract Pandalicious.

That's right, she avoided the first ten of the games, thinking they were just a Poor Man's Final Fantasy, but she has learned her lesson. She's already 50 hours into Dragon Quest 11 and figures she's not even a third of the way through.

We admire the effort. Panda's already deeply involved in Octopath Traveler, and there are quite a number of enticing games soon to come that will test her fortitude in finishing the 11th chapter of the long-running Dragon Quest.

Ninja, too, is looking toward the future. She's currently slogging her way through the latest version of Destiny, and looks forward to things like Kingdom Hearts 3 and other games. But there's one game on the horizon that she fears. They announced last week that they were bringing Animal Crossing to the Nintendo Switch.

Ninja played the guts out of the original Animal Crossing on the GameCube, sometimes arising in the middle of the night to get in some effective fishing. She outfitted her house in the best Feng Shui style. She complimented her neighbors. None of which she accomplishes in real life.

If Panda was addicted to World of Warcraft 10 years ago, Ninja admits she was just as addicted to Animal Crossing. Will she start playing this one? If she does, the future podcasts might start sounding a little repetitive.

So while you can still hear a well-rounded podcast, please listen to this week's effort, ESH Cast #602: Panda could say no, but what’s the fun of that?
