ESH Cast #448: Women Being Turned Into Chairs -- This Is Not Another Transformers Sequel

This episode couldn't be more ESH if it tried. Right out of the gate, Panda brings us down to Tangent Town, jumping all over the Straight Outta Somewhere meme. Ninja had to school her a little bit on the meme's origins and some of the more interesting places people have decided to take it.
Some are funny.
Some are HILARIOUS
Some are...just plain weird.
Ninja dominates the episode with an anime she SWEARS Panda will enjoy called Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace. Ninja couldn't be more right even if Panda watched it first, told Ninja about it, forgot about it for a week and THEN decided to put it on the show. (Which has happened before...more than once even.)
One morning, a junior-high student, Kobayashi, wakes up and finds himself in his classroom with his home room teacher’s body. In his hand is a murder weapon. A high-school detective, Akechi, is called in to assist the police to solve the case. Let the mouse and cat games begin. Panda boils it down to if the series Another and Kindachi Case Files played a game of sexy twister that resulted in the birth of this anime. It is suspenseful and gory, so make sure you have the stomach for that before you watch it.
Panda also tried to compare it to a live action movie called the Counsellor. In doing so she does reveal some SPOILERS. So if you haven't seen it, do so before listening to this show. (No, seriously. She spoils the whole damn movie, so watch it before you hit play on this podcast or don't watch it at all.)
When Panda takes the mic, she talks about an anime she recalls KingBabyDuck from B3 talking about a few weeks earlier called Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist. It is hilarity animated and exaggerated incarnate. It's a series that will go down in anime history.
Who is the panty-masked villainess spreading obscenity in a country where even the mildest off-color musing can land you in jail? When Anna, the student council president of the most elite public morals school in the country has a feeling that the lewdness is coming from within the school itself, she recruits Tanukichi, a recent transfer student, to her upstanding moral student council to help combat the moral terrorist group known as SOX.
If you like fan service and have a devilishly fun sense of humor, this anime is pure GOLD for you.
