Want to learn supermarket management? There's an app for that
See that blonde standing in front of those meat cases in the graphic above? A little incongruous, isn't it? That's probably not the intention, of course, but it is the reality of a video game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as the Macintosh.
That's right. They've made a game out of running a supermarket and they've given it the super-sexy name of "Supermarket Management." Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?
According to the makers of the game, "In Supermarket Management, help Kate work her way up to become Supermarket Manager! Fresh out of college, a job has fallen into Kate's lap and now she needs your help to succeed. Keep customers happy as you manage a supermarket in this mile-a-minute game. Purchase upgrades and hire co-workers to make your store run more efficiently and increase profits. Open new shops and make it to the top of the corporate ladder!"
No zombies, fast cars or big, bulky weapons to mess around with. Note that the press release purposely calls it a "mile-a-minute game." Well, a mile a minute translates to 60 miles an hour, which is probably how fast you drove to get to the supermarket in the first place. And you were still late to work.
But if you need any extra incentive to try Supermarket Management for yourself, the makers want you to know that, through Aug. 14, the game is free on all platforms. I'd like to say that's a great deal. I'd like to say it.
