    No Entendre Title Here

    posted @ 10/26/2009 08:13:00 AM by Ninjasistah
Sure, it would be easy to make a double entendre title for this weeks new podcast episode but we take the high road here at Electric Sista Hood.

Ok, actually we don't, but it was a fun way to start this podcast post. This podcast episode is ALL game, no anime, no gadgets. Pandalicious kicks off the hour with her final thoughts on the PSP game Obscure: The Aftermath by Playlogic, including a recommendation to play it on something soft. She says the game is scary, and you'll through your PSP around like a rag doll. Then she goes into a spiel about her first reactions to the new 2K Games title Borderlands and explores the parallels between it's gameplay elements and the PC title Diablo. We then have a spirited conversation about how to get PC gamers over to the console gaming side of the fence.

Then I finish out the hour talking about my experience with the social stuff on the Xbox Live Preview including Twitter and FaceBook. Closing out the hour is NinJaSistah's review of the EA title Need for Speed: Shift on the PS3. It's a busy episode, here are some of the titles for it that we didn't use:

    • This One Made Me Sing to Barney 'Til Dawn
    • Beware Games With Boys Choirs
    • Skeeziest Line of the Year: "The Flower Inside Me Has Just Bloomed!"
    • There's a Monster That Will Snatch Your Attention
    • Ninja Likes to Mounth Things — CONFIRMED!
    • and finally

    • SixAxiS Is a Palindrome — So Is Dud.

    Momma Says Knock You Out

2K Sports announced that Don King Presents: Prizefighter, the first documentary-style boxing extravaganza, has officially gone gold and is ready for production on the XB360.

Brainchild of Venom Games [a 2K studio] Don King Presents: Prizefighter is said to try to find and focus on the balance between sports simulation and mystique inside and outside the boxing ring.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter puts the player in the role of an unknown boxer fighting his way out of obscurity and into the international spotlight while attempting to claim the world championship title. Players will have rigorous training regimens and have to fight the temptations of wealth and stardom. [My personal advice is to not end up like Mike Tyson]

    The game sports a
"...live-action sports documentary style that features real-life legends and current stars from the world of boxing including Ken Norton, Larry Holmes, Andrew Golota, Joe Calzaghe and many others."

And for the dudes that like pixel vixens, both the Penthouse Pet of the Year Heather Vandeven and video vixen Bria Myles also star in the documentary and will try to distract you.

I ain't sayin' she a gold digger, but Don King Presents: Prizefighter

Prizefighter hits your local game-a-torium on June 10 for Xbox 360, and this fall for Wii.

    BioShock: Yeah, It's That Good

    posted @ 9/10/2007 05:48:00 PM by Ninjasistah
So Metacritic.com has declared BioShock from 2K Games bestest game ever according to every reviewer that has touched the game.

And they are damn near right.

I'm still a much bigger fan of God of War but BioShock is an incredible game that excites and scares the beejeebus out of me at times still. For me it's more of a "thiller-survival" game than a "survival horror" game, and a million downloads of the demo on XBLive can't be wrong.

If you haven't already grabbed the demo, log yourself onto XBLive and get it already... and hit up the BioShock website.

    That is all.

    More Tennis On The Wii

    posted @ 8/29/2007 11:25:00 PM by Ninjasistah
2K Games recently announced that they were going to be bringing Top Spin Tennis to the Wii next summer... get your best tennis elbow jokes excuses rehearsed now.

2K Sports, [the sports arm of Take-Two Interactive], and according to them Top Spin Tennis on for the Wii will feature
"...flawless tennis action and the most real life tennis experience to date for the Wii."

Top Spin Tennis will be available exclusively on the Wii in spring 2008.

The new Top Spin Tennis promises "pick-up-and-play action" making use of the Wiimote and nunchuku to matches the movements players would make on a real court. The Nunchuk controls the player and aim, while the Wiimote acts as your tennis racquet and determines the style of your shot... ranging from a top spin move [get it?] to a slice. The Wii Remote also allows players to control the power and the quality of the shot and to serve as well.

The game will feature multiple gameplay modes including singles, doubles, mixed/non-mixed matches, exhibition, tournament and more, and have four levels of difficulty and ten international venues. When the game ships it should feature at least dozen licensed tennis stars as well as ten original characters. Up to four players can play the game at a time, and to add to the group fun, there are a collection of party games included.

“We are excited to bring our popular Top Spin series to the Wii,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “Given the Wii’s unique controllers and the fun family-oriented gameplay, Top Spin Tennis effectively bridges the gap between a sports and a party game.”

Top Spin Tennis will ship summer of 2008, and will be exclusive to the Wii.
