Aero the Acro-Bat Corkscrews Onto Virtual Console

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

I remember the days when I used to rent games rather frequently.  In those days, a game would come every once in a while that I enjoyed so much that I would rent it multiple times.  When I saw that one of them popped up on Nintendo’s virtual console on monday, I couldn’t help myself from grabbing it up.  Aero the Acro-Bat was a game created by Sunsoft back in the day for the SNES with the anthropomorphic animal with an attitude feel for it.  So, yes I did pick it up, but does it still hold the same fun today?

E3: A Sun, an Eye and an Ape With a Tie

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

I had such wonderful plans for my money: food, shelter, gas and toilet paper to name a few.  All of that changed however, when I played a selection of Nintendo’s lineup of games at E3 this year.  Nintendo was clearly the leader of this years E3 in terms of sheer volume of new game announcements and quality titles.  My Wii and DS are going to be working overtime and my wallet is already openly weeping.

So… Who Wins?

Saturday, June 19th, 2010 by Bramimond

With all of this E3 news buzzing around it’s hard to talk about anything else. Obviously a lot of companies put a lot of work into getting demos and trailers ready for this huge convention. Motion controls were the big topic, and they’re definitely improving. But with the gaming community being so competitive, I’m sure the one thing gamers everywhere are wondering is who won?

Brief Impressions of Nintendo Briefing

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

Well, it’s official.  If your head explodes, then a new one will instantly grow in its place so that it may also explode.  I discovered this great scientific fact this morning at the Nintendo Media Briefing.  They have shown this year that not only are they dedicated to bringing gaming to everyone, but also keeping it awesome for those of us that have been enjoying it for a while now.

Tri It Now, Thank Me Later

Friday, April 23rd, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

Monster Hunter Tri is officially out and I couldn’t be more addicted.  There’s just so much to do with hunting monsters, decorating your hut, customizing armor and weapons, going online with friends, arena battles and cooking meat to a catchy tune.  In addition, there are so many fun toys to play with in association with this game.  With the debut of the Classic Controller Pro and inclusion of Wii Speak, there is quite a bit to this package.

Netflix Streams Again, This Time On Wii

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

So, I got an interesting message in my inbox today.  Turns out that in my mailbox, by the time you read this, will be my very own instant streaming disc for the Nintendo Wii.  Why would I need this feature when I already have a multitude of devices that do it already?  I wouldn’t, but that’s the fun of it.

Wii Will Support This Peripheral, Wii Promise

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010 by Hamsterman2049

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Some new releases hit stores today, including a very eagerly awaited Red Steel 2.  The sequel uses the new Wii Motion Plus and it looks to be the sword-fighting gun-slinging action title we were hoping for back in 2006.  This got me thinking about all the promising peripherals, past and present (and even the future), brought to us from Nintendo and their support, or lack thereof.  From the NES Zapper to the Wii Balance Board, a lot of plastic has built up in my house over the years, but how much of it was put to its best use?

Episode 150: The Brownies Were Mad Crazy Delicious

Monday, June 15th, 2009 by NinJaSistah

Once again, Monday brings with it a new episode of the Electric Sista Hood podcast, and in this one I think we finally put the nail in the post E3 wrap-up content.

Pandalicious and Ninjasistah talk about some of the lesser known or presented games like Warner Bros. Scribblenauts for the DS and a few titles from Playlogic including Section 8 Who had the best looking man candy by far. From Alpha Protocol to The Lord of the Rings: Arrogorns' Tale we talk through the last bits of our E3 notes... until we finish unpacking that is.

So kick back, relax, and enjoy ESH podcast episode 150: The Brownies Were Mad Crazy Delicious

p.s. more photo galleries to come, so be sure to check out the website this week often.

While My Pocketbook Gently Weeps

Monday, June 8th, 2009 by NinJaSistah

We aren't dead, but our feet [and brains] are dead tired from traipsing around the LA Convention Center last week to cover E3 for you guys. [And if I'm honest, for ourselves as well.] I couldn't tell you how much both Pandalicious and I enjoyed our time in LA. First there was the catching up with the rest of the AllGames fam, followed closely by the meeting and greeting of new gamer-type press groups and the exchange of thoughts and ideas over free drinks. [Crix Lee from GirlGamer, Destructoids' Nick Chester, and Mr. Crecente himself from Kotaku to name drop a few.] The side-story fun stuff aside, we descended on LA for a reason and that reason was to get the low down on the soon to be released and up-and-coming video games.

I won't bore you with a list of what we looked at, and whom we spoke to now as it wouldn't leave us anything to write for the rest of the week. What I will do is tell you that this podcast was one of our more enjoyable ones to record. We recorded it live from the show floor and Crix Lee popped by during our The Beatles: RockBand time and shared some great insights with us. A few people were wow'd by my laptop skin [courtesy of DecalGirl] and interrupted us a bit so you may notice that in here as well, but we had a lot to talk about... Bayonetta, Scribblenaughts, Prototype, and Batman: Arkham Asylum come to mind as I write this.

From the stronger female presence both physically and pixel-y at this years' show to media briefing impressions and being excluded from demos we talk about it all. Grab your beverage of choice and put on your headphones, it's time to enjoy Electric Sista Hood podcast 149: While My Pocketbook Gently Weeps
