ESH Cast #429: OnLive Should Now Be Called OnDead

Not to be confused with the living dead, or the walking dead...just good, old-fashioned, "This here thing is no more. It has ceased to be." Unlike this new episode of our weekly podcast, the online streaming game service/platform OnLive has run it's course. The doors are closed, and it's patents have been sold to Sony.

This week we talk about the end of OnLive, and reasons why it was unable to really own a piece of the gaming market (with competitors like the big three themselves - Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo - as well as services like Valve's Steam and the explosion of mobile games on smart devices) it isn't really a surprise to learn they didn't make it.

We also talk about Nintendo Direct, and how it broke Gamestop's data servers for a while, and whether or not the Amiibo crazy is really a thing to be into anymore. (Spoiler alert: Panda owns no Amiibo figures, nor can she say the word "Ah-mee-bo" the same way twice.)

And then we end the show with some tangents and anime, because it's what we do. So grab a beverage and enjoy ESH Cast #429: OnLive Should Now Be Called OnDead
