    Attorney at What?

    posted @ 9/04/2007 07:31:00 PM by Ninjasistah
Who's the guy in the suuuuuuuuuuuuit? Whooooooooooooo's the guy in my WIIIIIIIII?

You guessed it! Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is coming to the Wii [and PS2 and PSP] this November in the form of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law™...the video game. From the fine folks that bring you the Adult Swim and the creative folks over at Capcom comes what they call a
"unique style of gameplay... players will step into the shiny wingtips of Harvey Birdman, a third-rate superhero turned third-rate defense attorney charged with exonerating parodied classic cartoon characters.

In the game, players must guide Harvey through a series of oddball cases. In order to prove his client’s innocence, Harvey must peruse the scene of the crime, gather evidence, talk with other cartoon characters, occasionally have drinks with opposing council, and of course, tear holes – no matter how ridiculous – in the testimony provided by the witness for the prosecution.

What sounds cool about the game is that all of the original voice talent is on board including Peter MacNicol and Gary Cole, so I'm a happy chiquitita.

    So, LOOK OUT!

    Mooninite Bomb!?!

    posted @ 1/31/2007 06:46:00 PM by MagicMystic
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adult Swim and the Cartoon Network have now been added to the terrorist watch list..

Today Boston was veritibly shut down as police and bomb squads investigated some badly planned advertising for the new Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie. Packages with wires and LED lights sticking out of them emblazoned with pictures of the Mooninites caused a panic as people freaked out, thinking that they were bombs.

This was so big even the Department of Homland Security got in on it. Whoever thought this was a good idea should henceforth forfeit the right to think. But at the same time how high do you have to be to mistake some wires in a box for a WMD?

    Where's the Remote??

    posted @ 12/05/2006 12:19:00 AM by Douceswild
If there’s anything that I’ve learned from being a gamer, it’s that the games you enjoy playing say a lot about you. Here at ESH, we focus a lot of our attention on gaming and anime. Every once in a while we dip our toes into other pools like music and technology. Hey, what’s a true geek without a love for gadgets? Well what about television programs?

When my thumbs are sore from button-mashing on a console video game or I’m just too exhausted to pwn-all on World of Warcraft, I like to unwind with a good snack and a great show. Depending on what day it is, I’m enjoying anything in the realm of action, comedy, and romance. That’s right. I said romance. Even the Douce gets a little sentimental at times. I’d like to take this opportunity to get to know all of you a little better. No, I don’t want you social security number or blood type, but I’ll settle for what television programs you just absolutely can’t wait to watch every week and would kick someone out of your home to tune in for.

To get the ball rolling, I’ll list my favorites and the days I watch them. You’ll probably going to laugh at some of them but don’t worry because I’m sure I’ll do the same to yours. Ok here they are:

    Sunday: Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers
Monday: Prison Break, Heroes, What About Brian, The Closer
    Tuesday: Nip Tuck, Boston Legal
    Wednesday: Bones
Thursday: Smallville, Supernatural, The O.C., Grey’s Anatomy
Friday: Vanished, Las Vegas, Battlestar Galactica
Saturday: Adult Swim (all of it)

There are some shows that I watch that air every day such as Attack of the Show, X-play, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. AoTS and X-play are not absolutes because sometimes they aren’t reviewing anything I’m interested in or just being too stupid to hold my attention.

Who’s next to step up and list their favorites and must-sees’. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I got The O.C. on my list. How much worse can yours be?

    Inuyasha Feudal Combat

    posted @ 11/11/2006 08:45:00 PM by geekwoman
Bandai Games has finally scored big with the RPG "Inuyasha: Feudal Combat" for the PlayStation 2. The game is based on Inuyasha, the top-rated TV series from VIZ Media that airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. "Feudal Combat" the game has undergone an engine overhaul. It is now a genuine fighting game with a variety of moves and combos. You can play as Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango. The story mode has actual resemblance to the game. Thankfully the new battle system includes the ability to play along with a friend as a partner character in the cooperative mode.

Game play commences as you choose which team that you want to play as. In this way it becomes a two player game, or you can even choose a female lead character almost all the way through the game -- Inuyasha and Kagome or Miroku and Sango. Kagome has her bow and sacred arrows that purify negative energy. Sango has her heracos and Ki La La by her side. They all have special bonus moves that you have to let charge up, much like many RPG games of the past have.

The loading screens are a little slow but the artwork makes up for it. The graphics are much better this time with 3D renderings of the 2-D manga characters. The environments look pretty, and they are well drawn. Environments that have been on the TV series appear in the game. You play against familiar enemies such as Kikiyo, Koga, Kohaku, and Naraku.

The game takes place in ancient Japan. It is set in a fairy tale-like setting where demon oni and magic priestesses practice their sparkling skills in feudal Japan. It features 12 playable characters. Inuyahsa is a half-human, half-dog demon. Naraku is an evil shape-shifter. The combat system is new and original and a big improvement from Inuyasha: the Cursed Mask.

The environments are interactive which can give players an advantage in battle depending on what element or spells they can cast. There are three different game-play modes, including the mission, story, and two-player versus modes, which create a variety of ways to play the game. The game advances as characters are given the chance to develop more upgraded, Increased compatibility with partners to improves attacks.

The game is beautiful -- the backgrounds and other screens are nice watercolors. The characters themselves look much better in the updated 3D format. The whole game seems more in keeping with the style of the artwork and level of production that the DVD Inyusha movies have. The music and sound effects are good.

Inuyasha is my favorite animé. This game has it all down, the supernatural story line, the romances and the tragedies. The gameplay has been improved to match the show's exemplary art style and deep plot line. I am satisfied. I give Inuyasha Feudal Combat a long awaited 4.5 out of 5.

Daily News: You Write It, Optimus Prime Says It

    posted @ 10/03/2006 12:00:00 AM by evermore
Keeping you informed is what ElectricSistaHood is all about. Starting today, we're providing you the Daily News -- a daily feature that will try to keep you up-to-date on everything related to gaming and anime. Feel free to make comments about the news of the day. If you've seen something that we haven't mentioned, please add it along with a link in the Comment section.

In today's issue, tell Optimus Prime exactly what to say, beat the WOPR from the film WarGames in a game of chess and wash out a kindergartner's mouth out with soap.

Putting Words in the Mouth of Optimus Prime: There are plenty of discouraging words about the upcoming Transformers movie, but this contest should bring a lot of joy to fans. Ten winners of the contest will be able to make Optimus Prime speak words provided by the winners. Winner of the top prize will actually hear the words spoken in the movie. The line is limited to 120 characters and you have only until Oct. 12 to enter, so you better hurry.

Wouldn't You Prefer a Nice Game of Chess? That's the question asked by the WOPR in the seminal video gaming film WarGames. Now you can experience the power and the exasperation of the WOPR by playing Introversion software's DEFCON. Available only for the PC and only online, you can download a demo version here. My question is, does it have a Tic-Tac-Toe mode?

Leave It to Shin: They're not the Cleavers, but Shinchan and his family has a devoted following on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. They're so anxious to keep the potty-mouthed kindergartner on American TV that they've created a website so you can help. In addition, you can view show clips and vote on your favorite Shinism.

    Trinity Blood On Adult Swim

    posted @ 9/08/2006 02:25:00 PM by Ninjasistah
MMM vampire anime. I heart vampire anime.

Actually, I basically just heart vampires, so when I saw that Trinity Blood was going to be on Adult Swim Fix [the AS video streaming stuff that they do each Friday with new items being posted at 6pm EST] I about bit through my own lip. I have never seen this series, only read about it online and tried tracking it down via the naughty naughty way with absolutely no luck. =/

But yet again, AS has come to my rescue and is about to start airing episodes of Trinity Blood via the web starting today! If I needed another thing to help me kick off the weekend this sure would be it.

I'm not trying to hype this up ok, [not intentionally anyways] but it's just nice to see some new anime appearing in places that I can get a hold of it. I mean, Magic and Panda have all kinds of exposure to all things anime and have seen so many different things in the anime genre, but it's still all really new to me. I don't know diddly about mangas, haven't been to an anime con yet, never cosplayed, don't have a subscription to New-Type, hell I've never seen all of Miyasaki-san's movies...so I tend to get really excited when series that I've barely [or never] heard of that Panda or Magic haven't mentioned around me before show up somewhere that I get to watch them.

The basic line of the series focuses around the Vatican's secret weapon against vampires: a man named Abel Nightroad who's no mere human. [hint, hint] If you bounce over to the AS Trinity Blood page you can get the low down on what's going down, but the characters look great so I'm in. I'll try anything once.

I have no idea if Trinity is going to be good or not, but I'm looking forward to the experience.

    Adult Swim is My Hero

    posted @ 9/07/2006 12:45:00 PM by Ninjasistah
I was getting tired of having to check out anime that Pandalicious suggested to me on YouTube so I gave up. But the only series that I really got into and was pissed to leave behind was Bleach.

Well, now the good folks at Williams Street are hooking a sistah [ok, and the rest of you too] up with this kick ass series starting this Saturday night. [09 SEP 06] They are putting bleach on at 12:30pm EST so I am going to assume they aren't editing a whole lot out of it, more like I am praying that they don't edit too much out of it. I like my anime series au naturale if you know my meaning.

Still, it's nice to see some new anime hitting the Adult Swim block of programming. I wasn't all that impressed with Eureka 7. [although they have a bomb ass website] I just didn't find the main character of Rentin all that interesting, which is huge because I'm a sucker for mecha anime series. So since then, I've only been tuning into AS for Robot Chicken and the venture brothers. Now before you get all huffy puffy, I TiVO Ghost in the Shell so I can watch it later on in the week.

In any case, if you have cable you need to make sure that you tune in and catch Bleach this weekend on Adult Swim. 12:30 Saturday night. I'll bring the popcorn.
